This 'risque' little cutter, made of brass/steel, is in the form of a naked Lady sitting on a 'Potty' or chamber-pot ,& is of European manufacture, dating to circa 1890 -1900.. To operate the cutter, the Lady is hinged backwards (she is articulated at the shoulders) from the 'chamber pot', which reveals the V shaped cutting blade behind her ankles. The cigar or cheroot is placed in the bottom of the 'potty' & then the Lady is swung forward, cutting the cheroot. The cutter is cast & the detail on the 'chamber pot' is nicely done with a floral/foliage design. There is a ring on the back of the Lady's head (and an additional one on the rear of the 'potty') to enable attachment to an Albert chain. Condition is excellent for 117 year's, the only thing to note is that facial features on the Lady are slightly worn, the hinge is tight. The dimensions of the cutter are approx 3cm in height & 1.3cm in width (ex. the feet, 2cm inc.)
