This is a set of 6 matching sterling silver teaspoons by Jonathan Hayne, made during the reign of William IV (1830 - 37), & fully hallmarked for London 1832. The spoons are of the 'Old English' pattern with a single drop & are of heavy gauge. The hallmarks are top struck, & consist of the leopards head (London), lion passant (925 sterling), date letter 'r' (1832 - 33), George III head (duty mark), & the makers mark 'JH' (in script for Jonathan Hayne, who worked in London during the 1st half of the 19th century). The spoons are in excellent condition with no dings or dents, & the hallmarks are crisp. WEIGHT : Total weight is 103.6 g, 3.64 oz, or 3.33 Troy. DIMENSIONS : Each spoon is approx 14.5cm in length (approx 5 3/4"). |
