This is a matching set of six Art Deco Sterling Silver and Enamel coffee spoons, in a fitted case, and fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1935. The spoons have a triangular stem with an enamelled terminal in the form of two interlocking diamonds or lozenges, with each spoon having a different coloured enamel. The colours of the terminals are Dark Purple, Yellow, Dark Blue, Light Blue, Light Green, & a Dark Red. The spoons are fully hallmarked with the makers mark 'J.C Ltd', the anchor (Birmingham), the lion passant (925 sterling), & the date letter 'L' (1935 - 36). The case is covered in black faux leather, with gold tooling to the lid, & brass hardware. The interior lid is in a cream 'silk', with the fitted base in a cream velvet. Condition is excellent, the spoons are perfect with the exception of a tiny crack in the Yellow enamel (this has happened during firing, there is no loss of enamel), but this is tiny & does not detract - Please see magnified photos. Each spoon measures approx 3 3/4" or 9.7cm. (the case is 6" x 4 3/4"). The total weight of the spoons is 41 g, 1.45 oz, or 1.35 Troy. All in all, a stunning set of Art Deco spoons in superb condition.
