The pin cushion is designed as a hedgehog & is beautifully detailed, with the chased body having a series of holes, through which, pins would be placed, giving the impression of hedgehog spines.

The internal cushion is covered in leather, which can be seen from the base.

The cushion is fully hallmarked on the base with the makers mark 'L & S' (for Levi & Salaman), the anchor (Birmingham), the lion passant (925 sterling), & the date letter 'f' (for 1905 - 06).

Condition is fantastic for it's 103 years, there is a very slight & small crease to the back, but no dents or repairs - please see photos.

This pin cushion is large for a novelty cushion, measuring approx 7cm in length & 4cm in height (approx 2 3/4" x 1 1/2").

All in all, a very scarce figural, 103 year old pin cushion, from a renowned silversmiths, in fantastic condition.
