Silver Napkin / Serviette Ring 'HMY' - Birmingham 1917

This is a George V, solid sterling silver napkin or serviette ring, by the silversmith John Rose, & fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1917.

The ring has an engine turned ribbed or fluted design & has the engraved initials 'HMY'.

The ring is fully hallmarked with the makers mark 'J R' (for John Rose), the anchor (Birmingham), the lion passant (925 sterling), & the date letter 's' (for 1917 - 18).

The ring is approx 6/8" high & 1 5/8" in diameter (2 cm x 4.2 cm), and weighs 16.7 g, 0.59 oz, or 0.54 Troy.

Condition is excellent, there is just the normal, very light surface marks associated with a 93 year old ring - please see the magnified photographs.

All in all, a nice, engine turned ring from the WW I period.
