Art Deco Chrome Flip Perpetual Desktop Calendar:1930's

This is an original Art Deco period 'flip' style perpetual desktop calendar, made of chrome plated metal, and dating to around the early 1930's.

The top of the calendar has two upright 'legs' which support the revolving Date section, whilst the base has a Month and a Day display window to the front. There is a knob at either side of the base, which are rotated independently to change the day & month.

The date section has weighted metal plates, with Black numerals on a White painted background, & operates via gravity by rotating the section towards yourself. The plates, in addition to the numerals, also have three 'instruction' plates (after the number 31) which read 'TURN TOP TOWARDS YOURSELF', CHANGE MONTH', & TURN SLOWLY'.

The Months & the Days are printed on paper on a cylinder, & are changed by rotating the knobs at either side.

Condition is Fine & the calendar is in full working order. There is no pitting or wear to the Chromium, but there is a little discolouration & foxing to the paper month & day cylinders. The felt covered base has some wear (as would be expected after 80 odd years).

The calendar stands approx 2 1/2" high, & is approx 2" in length (approx 6.5 cm & 5.3 cm).
