10 Bryant & May 'Flowers' Tin Match Box Holders: 1930

This is a collection of 10 Bryant & May's metal Matchbox Covers, 8 from the 'Flowers' series, 1 from the 'Lupin' set, & 1 from the 'Prince of Wales feather' set, and all dating to the late 1920's to early 1930's.

The 'FLOWERS' series of the late 1920's consisted of 6 different designs, in two sizes, & with different size lettering. The lot we are offering consist of :

CHRYSANTHEMUM x 1 - small box / small letters

CARNATION x 1 - small box / small letters

LILY x 2 - small box / large letters

DAFFODIL x 2 - small box / large letters

ROSE x 1 - large box / large letters

AQUILEGIA or COLUMBINE - large box / large letters

The 'LUPIN' set of the late 1920's consisted of only two boxes, large & small. The box included in the lot is the small one.

The 'Prince of Wales' feather set was introduced in 1926, & the box included in the lot is the small one.

Condition is very good, there is a little surface rust & fading to some of the boxes - Please see the magnified photos of both the front & the rear of the holders.

The large holders measure approx 2 7/8" in length (7.3 cm), & the small holders measure approx 2 1/4" (5.8 cm).

Overall, a nice collection of late 1920's Bryant & May tin matchbox holders.
