This is a Norwegian Sterling Silver filigree brooch or pin, fully hallmarked for Norway, & crafted by the silversmith Leif Johan Hansen around 1960. The brooch is in the form of a flower, with a central Silver 'pearl' sitting on a filigree wire cushion, & each of the twelve petals having a delicate openwork design, the centre of each petal consisting of a ridged, curled length of Silver cable. The brooch has a hinged, 'C' clasp fixing. The brooch is fully marked to the rear with the makers mark 'LJH' (for Leif Johan Hansen, who worked in Bergen from 1948 until 1977), & '925 STERLING NORWAY'. Condition is Fine with no damage at all to the filigree. The pin has a little sideways movement (as would be expected), but the hinge is strong. The brooch is quite large & measures approx 4.8 cm or 1 7/8" in diameter, and weighs 10.2 g. Overall, a very high quality vintage Norwegian Silver brooch, by a known maker, & in fine condition for it's 50 odd years.
