Leather Case Swiss Pocket Watch Travel Clock c.1930

This is a leather cased folding travel clock, with a stem wind & set Swiss made patent movement, & dating to around the 1930's.

The case is made of a very fine & soft kid leather, with a Gilt tooled decoration to the front & interior borders. The leather is Dark Green in colour, although the base is more of a blue colour.

The case opens via a push button to reveal a blue watermarked silk lining, & a hinged leaf which holds the clock.

The hinged leaf has a matching leather, gold tooled front & silk back, with the watch being held in place by means of the front & rear being sandwiched between the leaf.

The front of the watch has a gilt metal gadrooned border, a bevelled edge 'glass', a white porcelain ? dial with hand gilded Arabic numerals & black chapter ring, and blued & gilded hands.

The rear case is hinged & opens to reveal the stem wind & set movement, which is marked 'SWISS MADE', '321538', & the words 'DEPOSE PATENT' around a Swiss cross. The front of the leaf also has 'patent' in gold tooling.

The watch is in full working order (we have wound the watch & it is ticking away nicely & keeping good time although, we cannot guarantee accuracy).

Condition is fine, the silk lining is worn away where the leaf sits, & there are another two splits just above this, & a piece of silk is missing at the rear of the watch (none of which is noticeable when the watch is in the normal position). There are two small areas of wear to the leather at the leaf hinges - all very minor on an 80 year old travelling clock but please see magnified photos.

The case is approx 4 1/8" square, & the diameter of the face is approx 2" (approx 10.5 cm square & 5.2 cm).

Overall, a stunning 1930's folding travel clock, in fine condition.
