This is an original Art Deco period 'camera' compact combo with a mirrored compact, cigarette & money compartment, & a lipstick holder. The compact is made of chromed metal with an enamelled finish, and dates to around the 1930's.

The case is rectangular in form & has a red enamelled body, with the front having an Art Deco design consisting of six horizontal chrome lines dissected by a large diagonal band of grey through cream enamel.

The front compartment opens via a clip to reveal a bevelled mirror & a gilded powder section.

The rear compartment opens via a clip to reveal a gilded sprung cigarette holder, with a money etc compartment underneath.

The circular lipstick holder fits into a hole on the end of the top edge.

The holder is marked 'FOREIGN' on the cigarette holder & the rim of the mirror.

The condition of the interior is good, with no damage other than a few spots of light tarnishing . The hinges, springs, & openings are excellent.

The condition of the exterior is fair to poor, with chipping to the enamel, & a small bruise to one end (the end where the lipstick fits, although does not affect the holder in any way) - please see magnified photos.

The case measures approx 3 7/8" x 2" (approx 9.8 cm x 5.2 cm).

Overall, an original Art Deco combo compact, whose exterior is showing it's 80 odd years.
