This is a small, vintage bust of HIDEKI TOJO (?), the Prime Minister of Japan (1941 - 44), & most probably dating to around the mid 1940's. The bust is made of solid Brass & was probably made as a souvenir to commemorate his appointment of Prime Minister, or to commemorate his death? (Tojo was found guilty of war crimes by the 'International Military Tribunal of the Far East' at the end of World War II, & was executed in 1948). The bust is approx 2 5/8" at it's tallest (approx 6.7cm) & is very heavy for it's size at around 6.6oz (188g). |
