This is a pair of small, Edwardian Silver rimmed ceramic bowls, by the silversmiths Claydon, Robin & Co, and fully hallmarked for London 1907. Each bowl has a flared body with a shelved top, & sits on a pedestal foot. The bowls have been finished in a light apple green and mounted with Silver rims. The base rims are unglazed & one has the hand painted number '52', probably a pattern no.? The front of each bowl has a transfer printed & hand painted vignette of a country scene comprising a courting couple in Regency dress. Each vignette is surrounded by a decorative gilt border & the scene is slightly different on each bowl. The Silver mounts are fully hallmarked with the makers mark 'C.R.& Co' (Claydon, Robin & Co), the leopards head (London), the lion passant (925 Sterling), & the date letter 'm' (1907 - 08). Condition of the ceramic bowls are Fine with no chips, cracks or restoration. The Silver rim on one bowl has two knocks to the top (above the hallmark) & the hallmarks are partially rubbed - please see magnified photos. The bowls stand approx 1 3/4" tall (approx 4.4cm). Please Note: We also have a matching pair of vases available.
