This is a stunning Art Nouveau Cigar Box, made by WMF & marked with the first (fully shaded) 'bee-hive' mark, & dating to around 1909 - 10.

The box, which has been made from a heavy gauge brass, is rectangular in form, with a hinged lid & a cedar wood lined interior. The brass has a lovely, deep golden patina.

The box has a planished finish, with the front, lid, & rear also having an embossed Art Nouveau symmetrical design with a combination of sinuous & straight lines & decreasing roundels. The box sits on four circular, stepped feet.

The lid of the box has overhanging edges, & hinges open to reveal the cedar lined sides & base.

The base is marked with the fully shaded WMF 'bee-hive' mark, which was introduced in 1909. The number '112' is also impressed.

Condition is absolutely Fine, the only point to note is that two of the overhanging edges of the lid are very, very slightly bumped (extremely difficult to notice).

The box measures approx 7 1/2" long, 4" wide, & stands just over 2 1/2" tall (approx 19.1cm, 10.2cm, & 6.5cm).
