This is an original, early Art Deco period desktop perpetual calendar, made in Britain of brass, & dating to the early 1920's. The calendar is in the from of a brass cylinder sitting atop a stepped & tapered brass base. The 'cylinder' has four windows & four rotating discs, two in the centre & two forming the end caps of the cylinder, & all with engine turned edges. The windows show the days, both the date numerals, & the months, & are all operated independently via the rotating discs. The days, months, & dates are printed on celluloid barrels. The 'days' barrel is also printed with 'British Made and Patents Applied'. The base is made from a felt covered board, although the felt has mostly worn off. Condition is Fine & in full working order, with absolutely no damage other that the expected wear to the base covering. The calendar measures approx 4 3/4" long, and 1 7/8" wide (approx 12.3cm x 4.7cm). Overall, a totally original early Deco desktop calendar, in Fine condition.
