This is one of 4 Royal Christmas cards signed by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (3 'auto-penned' & 1 hand signed) that we have recently acquired.

This card is an original 1979 Royal Family Christmas card, with the 'auto pen' signature of HRH Prince Philip, and complete with it's original franked postal envelope.

The envelope is addressed to an Edinburgh based Association (of which Prince Philip is/was a Patron), sent by registered Mail from London & franked 3 times with the Buckingham Palace franking stamp dated 14th December 1979, & with the stamped HRH Queen Elizabeth II Cipher to the bottom L/H corner.

The card is a rectangular, bi-fold card in a pale blue / grey heavy card, with the Gilt Royal Ciphers of Queen Elizabeth & Prince Philip to the front.

The inside Left is printed with 'With best wishes for Christmas and the New Year' & has the auto-penned in ink signature 'Philip' underneath.

The inside Right has a colour photograph of Prince Edward, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Philip, Queen Elizabeth II, & Prince Andrew, standing in a garden with the Corgis at their feet.

Condition of the card is Fine, with no marks or creases. Condition of the envelope is Good, with expected wear.
