This is one of 4 Royal Christmas cards signed by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh (3 'auto-penned' & 1 hand signed) that we have recently acquired.

This card is an original 1982 Royal Family Christmas card, with the hand signed signature of HRH Prince Philip, and complete with it's original franked postal envelope.

The envelope is addressed to an Edinburgh based Association (of which Prince Philip is/was a Patron), sent by registered Mail from London & franked 3 times with the Buckingham Palace franking stamp dated 14th December 1982, & with the stamped HRH Queen Elizabeth II Cipher to the bottom L/H corner.

The card is a rectangular, bi-fold card with a photograph on each side: The front with Prince Philip & Prince Andrew in Naval Uniform, & Queen Elizabeth II; and the rear with Prince Philip & Prince Andrew in Naval Uniform & Queen Elizabeth II standing on the deck of a ship, in front of a helicopter.

The inside Left has the Royal Ciphers of Queen Elizabeth & Prince Philip.

The inside Right is printed with 'With best wishes for Christmas and the New Year' & has the hand signed signature 'Philip' underneath.

Condition of the card is Fine, with no marks or creases. Condition of the envelope is Good, with expected wear.

Note Re Authenticity : We currently have 4 Royal Christmas cards signed by Prince Philip in our catalogue, thus we were able to compare the signatures & determine that 3 were 'auto-pen' (which, although penned in ink, showed no discrepancies in style which one would expect over a period).
