This is a large Deco style shallow bowl, made by Arthur Wood Royal Bradwell in the 'ASTORIA' pattern, & bearing the 1945 + backstamp. The dish has a symmetrical edge design, with an impressed design to the interior bowl consisting of diagonal lines, raised curves & a stylised 'sunrise' to one end. The bowl is finished in a Green ground with a pearl lustre glaze, & is decorated with a Gilded rim, a floral transfer design around the edge, & a floral transfer detail to the centre of the bowl. The base carries the printed pattern mark 'ASTORIA', & the 'Royal Bradwell - Quality - Arthur Wood - Made in England' printed mark (1945 - 54). Condition is fine, with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The only point to note is a very small firing spot to the interior bowl (due to the firing process during manufacture & not damage). The bowl measures approx 12" long & 8" wide, at widest points (approx 30.4cm x 20.3cm).
