This is a 1st Edition of 'Lvsvs Regivs : Being Poems and Other Pieces by King James Ye First': Archd. Constable & Co., Westminster 1901, printed at Oxford by Horace Hart, & number 212 of a limited edition of 275 numbered copies, of which, 250 were for sale. The book has pale blue boards with a gilt blocked Royal crest to both front & rear, & a gilt blocked spine. The interior, which includes 5 full-page illustrations of the original manuscripts, has the titlepage, which is a facsimile of that used in the folio edition of 1616; with an engraved portrait of King James 1 opposite, an inscription to Queen Victoria, a prefaratory note by Robert J. Rait, a table of contents & illustrations, & an introduction (xii, 65pp). Condition is fairly good for it's 110 years, with clean pages & a tight binding. The main points are the boards are faded to the edges, the spine has a splits along the top edge & bumping to the corners, particularly the top corner. The interior has fading to the endpapers, a little foxing to the engraving, & the titlepage facsimile (& the next page with an inscription to Queen Victoria) are attached but loose. The book measures approx 13 1/2" x 9 7/8" (approx 34.2cm x 25.2cm).
