This is a mid Victorian Silver Plated twin decanter stand, complete with it's original cut crystal decanters (one af), & dating to around 1870. The stand has a fluted border around the base, & sits on four claw feet, each foot having Acanthus mounts with twin gadrooned Tudor rose motifs, & a detailed claw foot. The twin frame has a gadrooned border, & the single twist handle has an Acanthus mount, a gadrooned stem design, & an Acanthus mounted finial. The decanters have a pedestal foot with a star cut base, a hobnail cut onion body, a fluted neck with a diamond cut neck ring, & their original, faceted ball stoppers. Condition of the stand is fine, with the base having some small & light areas of rubbing to the plate (unseen with decanters fitted). The frame / handle is fixed to the base via a single winged nut to the underside. One decanter is fine, with only a few tiny nibbles to the facet edges & expected wear to the base. The other decanter is af, with a fracture running from the neck to around the body (the decanter still holds liquid perfectly, but would not be recommended for use). The stand is approx 12 1/2" or 31.7cm tall, with each decanter standing approx 8 3/4" or 22.3cm tall. Overall, a stunning Victorian decanter set, which would make a wonderful display piece.
