This is a vintage English police truncheon, made of turned hardwood, & dating to around the 1930's / 40's.

The truncheon, turned from a single piece of hardwood (probably Lignum vitae), features a rounded end which tapers down to a turned, four finger grip, with an extra turning to attach the leather strap (present), & a button end.

The truncheon measures approx 15 1/4" or 38.7cm in length (excluding the strap), & weighs approx 13 oz. As with many 20th C. truncheons, there are no identifying marks.

Condition is fine, with only light marks / very light knocks, that would be expected on a 70 year old, original truncheon.
