This is an original aquatint with hand colouring, engraved by J. Merigot after John Claude Nattes, and published by W. Miller in London in 1801.

The image is engraved to the bottom with 'Nattes del t', 'LOCH ETIVE', 'Merigot . sculp', & 'Publish'd by W Miller Old Bond Street. 1801.'.

Condition of the etching is Fine, with no fading & vibrant colours but, unfortunately, it has had a very small knock on the bottom edge of the image, which has punched a very small break in the card (please see magnified photos). There are tape marks, left by mounting tape, to the corners of the card (does not affect image in any way).

The actual image measures approx 18cm x 12.8cm, with the sheet measuring approx 25cm x 20cm. The aquatint comes with it's board front frame, which is grubby.

Overall, a lovely, original hand coloured aquatint with still vibrant colours, & in fine condition for it's 209 years.
