This is an original, hand coloured engraving of the METHODIST CHAPEL, EDINBURGH, drawn by Thomas Hosmer Shepherd (1793-1864), engraved by S.Lacey, & dating to around c.1830.

The image is engraved to the bottom with 'Drawn by T.H.Shepherd', 'METHODIST CHAPEL, EDINBURGH', & 'Engraved by S.Lacey'.

The engraving has been mounted within an 'envelope' mount, & comes with it's board frame (unattached).

Condition of the engraving is Fine, with no foxing or fading. The only point to note is that the engraving has been mounted with tape, which has left a yellow mark on the corner edges of the margin (does not affect the engraving in any way). The mount is fair & the card frame is a little grubby.

The actual image measures approx 15cm x 10cm, with a 1.5cm margin top & bottom & a 2cm margin at the sides (19cm x 13cm). The mount measures approx 26.3 x 20.8 cm.

Overall, a lovely, original hand painted engraving with still vibrant colours, & in Fine condition for it's 180 odd years.
