Art Deco Silver Pl Cocktail Shaker : W Suckling c1930's

This is an original Art Deco period 1 Pint cocktail shaker, made in Silver Plate by the renowned firm of William Suckling, & dating to the early 1930's.

The shaker is tapered in form, with a ribbed band detail to the body, a pouring spout with an inbuilt strainer and a cork & silver plate cap, a curved loop handle, & a fluted, silver plate & cork lid, which has an attached 'hook' implement to the underside.

I'm not sure what the purpose of the 'hook' is, perhaps an agitator or aerator ?, although I've seen them described as fruit hooks & citrus squeezers ?

The base carries the makers mark of 'S.Ltd' (William Suckling), the 'lamp post' trademark, 'EPNS', 'A1', 'KINGSWAY PLATE' (the trade name of Suckling's plate), 'MADE IN ENGLAND', '4067', & 'ONE PINT'.

The exterior has absolutely no plate loss, just some expected, very light surface marks. The base has expected, light wear.

The interior is fine, & the cork stopper & lid are good. The stopper has a good, tight fit, whilst the lid has the correct, slightly looser fit.

Overall condition is Fine, with only a tiny bruise to the rim and, as mentioned, absolutely no plate loss.

The shaker measures approx 7 7/8" tall (approx 20cm), & holds 1 pint.

Overall, a classic Art Deco shaker in fine condition.'
