Nautilus Porcelain (Glasgow) Crested Ware Vessel ELGIN

This is a Nautilus Porcelain Co miniature crested ware vessel, fully backstamped, & dating to between 1901 - 1913.

The front of the vessel, which is in the form of a one handled coopered bucket, is decorated with the crest of the CITY & ROYAL BURGH OF ELGIN, with the motto SIC ITUR AD ASTRA.

The base has the printed NAUTILIS PORCELAIN mark, which was used from 1901 until 1913. The Nautilus Porcelain Co (based in Glasgow, Scotland) was in existence from 1896 - 1913, but from 1898 - 1901 the firm was restyled as the Possil Pottery Co.

Condition is fine, with no damage other than light rubbing to the gilding around the rim.

The vase measures approx 2 3/8" or 6.2cm high (to the top of the handle).
